Memorial Day 2004 Losing the One You Loved...It hurts to lose the one you lovewithout even a sign. You know you will never see them again until the end of time. It hurts so much, and even though you try you will never forget them, no matter how many years have gone by. You know one day you will see them again but nobody will know just when. Thank them for the things they've done when they were here with you, and miss them if you want to, as they would do for you. My uncle died at the young age of 19 in another land and even though I never knew him If nothing more he was a good man. For he died fighting for freedom in the Viet Nam War, and even though he's gone right now, we love him even more. For without the ones we loved so much, who have lost their lives to war, If they weren't fighting for freedom Would we even be a country anymore? Even though my uncle's gone his memories will remain For if he wasn't fighting for his country Would he have died in vain?. I thank him for what he's done, and even though his life had to end I know that God is taking care of him and we all know it's true. I gave thanks to you, Uncle Jimmy What would this country do without men and women like you?
Dedicated to James E. Tankersley
From his niece, 14 Jan 2007 My uncle Jimmy was has been gone longer than I am old, even though I never got to know him, my family has never forgotten him. He was loved by so many, and greatly missed by all. Uncle Jimmy, you would be so proud to know so many people loved you, and miss you every day. My mother has so many great wonderful memories of my uncle Jimmy, and if he had not died for such a heinous reason, I would have been able to meet him. I know I would have loved him. I am grateful for those who fight for our country, and even though more than half the time, we don't know what the war is for, Our Lord is with them, and when they are lonely He takes care of them. Uncle Jimmy, until we meet in heaven, we all love and miss you very much.
Your niece, |
Jimmy, I still miss you very much. You were taken from me much too soon. You will always live in my heart as you have through all these years. One day you and I will meet again and start all over again in Heaven. I love you, Pam (Courtin Cory)
